Privacy and Data

3sparks Chat is built around user-controlled connections. What leaves your device depends on the provider and features you choose.

Local by default where possible

Chats, settings, and Local Model files live on your device unless you enable sync or send content to a provider. Local Models run supported generation on device.

Providers receive prompts

When you use a remote provider, your prompt, chat context, and attached content needed for that request are sent to that provider. Provider privacy terms apply.

API tokens

API tokens are stored securely in Keychain. They are not stored in ordinary app preferences.

iCloud Sync

iCloud Sync uses Apple's systems to sync chats and selected data between your devices. Local Model files do not sync through iCloud.

Memory

Memory stores indexed knowledge on device. If retrieved memory is used in a remote-provider chat, that retrieved context is included in the request to the provider.

Keyboard extension

The keyboard needs Allow Full Access to send text to your selected AI connection. On-device Local Models are main-app only.

Jina Reader

When you use Jina Reader, the URL is sent to Jina Reader so it can fetch page content. The fetched content is then included with your prompt.
