Keyboard Extension

The keyboard extension lets you rewrite, summarize, translate, and run custom prompts without leaving the app where you are typing.

Set up the keyboard

  1. Open the iOS Settings app.
  2. Go to General > Keyboard > Keyboards.
  3. Tap Add New Keyboard and choose 3sparks Chat.
  4. Enable Allow Full Access so the keyboard can send text to your selected AI connection.
  5. Open 3sparks Chat and go to keyboard settings.
  6. Choose the connection and model the keyboard should use.

Use a keyboard prompt

  1. Tap a text field in any app.
  2. Switch to the 3sparks Chat keyboard with the globe key.
  3. Type text or select text you want to transform.
  4. Tap a prompt button.
  5. Review the result, then insert it, retry, or undo as needed.

When text is selected, prompts focus on the selected text. Without a selection, prompts use nearby text context.

Prompt management

Keyboard prompts can be enabled, disabled, reordered, edited, imported, and shared. You can also browse the prompt directory for more prompts.

Connections and sync

The keyboard uses the connection and model selected in keyboard settings. It can use cloud providers, reachable local servers, and API providers. On-device Local Models are main-app only because the keyboard extension cannot access the main app's loaded model runtime.

Troubleshooting

  • If the keyboard does not appear, confirm it is added in iOS Settings.
  • If prompts do nothing, confirm Allow Full Access is enabled.
  • If the keyboard cannot connect, choose a reachable provider or local server.
  • If the wrong model is used, reopen keyboard settings and refresh the selected connection/model.
