Jina Reader
Jina Reader fetches readable web page content and adds it to your prompt. It is useful for summarizing articles, asking questions about a page, or bringing current web content into a chat.
Use Jina Reader in chat
- Open a chat.
- Tap + in the composer.
- Choose Web or Jina Reader.
- Enter the page URL.
- Add your question or instruction.
- Send the message.
The fetched page content is included with your prompt so the selected model can use it as context.
Settings
Open Settings > Web Content Tools to configure Jina Reader options:
- Add an optional Jina API key for higher limits.
- Enable Remove All Images when you want cleaner text-only page content.
- Turn web content tools on or off.
Privacy and limits
The URL is sent to Jina Reader so it can fetch the page. The fetched content is then sent to your selected AI provider with your prompt. Public web pages work best; private pages, paywalled content, or blocked sites may fail.
Troubleshooting
- Make sure the URL includes
https://orhttp://. - If fetch fails, open the URL in Safari to confirm it is reachable.
- If content is too long, ask a narrower question or use a model with a larger context window.
- If you hit rate limits, add your own Jina API key in settings.
